M.A.D.M.E.N. Odometer-Where we went in June

The weather is heating up and so are the MADMEN adventures. In June it was possible to see your fellow MADMEN every week of the month for an event.

We started off the month by participating in the Phantom Car Show with the British car club before heading to MINI of Tucson for more coffee, doughnuts and conversation.

For Munchies we met at Fronimo’s Greek Restaurant. Their private dining room was already booked but that was OK as it would have been a very tight squeeze. We had an impressive turnout of more than 24 attendees, then ended the evening at Baskin Robbins.

Next on the calendar was The Turquoise Trail adventure to New Mexico. This was our best attended 3 day event- 11 cars and 19 people got extra days off for this trip and after a small delay (nobody brought jumper cables?) we finally made it to the Land of Enchantment. After a night in Albuquerque a few stayed in town for a Breaking Bad tour and the rest of us headed for the Trail. We motored, we saw the sights, we shopped in Madrid (jewelry, pottery and art pieces) and arrived in Santa Fe in time for more walking, shopping and sightseeing. Dinner at the Cowgirl Café was great food, fantastic company and best of all we had a private dining room. This was the first overnighter for some and they had so much fun they immediately signed on for July’s Weekend at Rael’s Wild Boar Ranch.

Last Saturday of the Month we stormed the Palace walls, the Cow Palace that is. This was a next to record turnout- 22 MINIs and 40 MINI wranglers drove down to Amado for breakfast and for that photo op across the road. A large number of us then took the road to Arivaca and back to Tucson via Three Points and several of us made a stop at a member’s house for more conversation and beverages. But the day was not over, as there was still more car fun to be had at Little Anthony’s Car show that evening.

A lot of food, a lot of miles and a whole lotta smiles!
July will be just as busy. Munchies is at Sentinel Peak Brewing Company (July 10), we head to Rael’s Wild Boar Ranch in Show Low for the weekend (July 11-13), then it’s Dog Days of Summer at MINI of Tucson and the DRP election meeting on Mt. Lemmon (July 19) and then Last Saturday Breakfast at The Hungry Fox and load up the MINIs with donations to be delivered to Pima Animal Care Center and the Humane Society (July 26).

For more information on any event that the M.A.D.M.E.N. of Tucson have planned please email us.  madmenoftucson@gmail.com and check out the on line calendar.
