We are back...old school style

Postby Dirt4dinner » Tue Sep 25, 2012 10:23 pm

My wife and I regretfully parted ways with our cute little red MINI a couple years back. We were never overly active with the club, but we really enjoyed the few times we got together. Especially the Christmas lights run!

Well....WE ARE BACK!

We just purchased a 1973 100% original, Mini 1000. We bought it from a car collector in North Carolina. Paper work was just signed this afternoon, so hopefully it will be here within a couple weeks, barring any shipping problems.

Here are some photos to hold you over, until we can start hanging out with the group again. The car has 30,000 original miles, and not a spot of rust on it anywhere. It's as close to flawless as I have seen in the past month of daily national mini shopping.

I've been to busy driving it! I drove it home last night, and back to work this morning. I am totally pushing my luck since it has New Zealand license plates on it. I am going to try to hit the DMV today for a 3 day use permit. I am waiting on the bank to send me the registration and title stuff.

I will post a couple photos in a bit though. It's suffered a little paint damage in transit, so I have to get it to the paint shop for a quote so I can go after the trucker. It's pretty minor though. I saw a couple MINIs on the way to work this morning, and caught a couple waves.
