Louie, where are we going? ;) I'll be up for pizza probably. Don't have really any plans during my 2 week vacation. :D

I thought a "5 and diner" might be a nice change, and a cool photo op, but the ones I've been looking at you can't really get the MINIs close enough for a good photo. That and the diner itself isn't really set up for larger groups. w:(w

If others do want to do a 5 & diner, there's 8 locations in the valley. I'm guessing the ARIZONA MILLS location at 5025 Arizona Mills Circle, Tempe, AZ 85282 would be our best bet.

But yes, I too have absolutely no plans for my 4 day weekend. ( gotta work the 26th, 27th, 28th, & 31st) :hohum

I think I've been to those before. One in north phoenix, but the parking there doesn't fit what you want. From what I can remember.

I am up for the az mills though. Think that ends up being the closest to my place. :D

I'll be there. Sounds good. I've only been the one just north of the 101 and I-17 interchange. Seems to be a good place.

I actually sugested that a couple of months ago (not knowing about the waitresses at the time). I was told parking's too tough and the resturaunt's too small for our group.

Went and scoped out the site today, parking on the side makes for a decent photo angle:

(Picture 10 or so more MINIs parked next to mine)

Also inquired about larger groups, manager said there'd be no problem accomidationg apx 15 or so.

The old location on Elliot, yes, but they aren't located there any more...

They're not on 44th and elliott anymore? I just drove by a few days ago and they were there.

It's a bigger location with more booths and seating inside, but certainly not a huge place. They are also only open til 8PM, so can't really hang around there for long after eating.

You'd have to park across the street...realistically. Assuming there are going to be more than 4 customers already there. Plus, it's only the burgers that are good. Their chips or fries or whatever you call them aren't. All you taste is grease. Then again, maybe I got a bad batch because the cook was too busy watching the waitress flirt with the 50+ yr old men across the table. :D

We went when it was on Elliot and I thought the fries and the burgers were excellent. Tasted just like the meals my mom used to make when I was a kid. Yes, it's still a bit on the small side, but who's afraid of a little intimacy, eh? :)
