To some it's just a car, so sad.
Some time back I had to laugh at my 85 year old mom.
We were pulling into a parking space and at the exact same time a MINI was pulling into the space directly across from us, so we were facing each other. The lady driving the other MINI was probably in her late 50's, and she didn't react, wave or even smile. My mom said, and I quote "The crazy old lady probably doesn't even know she's driving a MINI".

I love your Mom! She hit the nail on the head - even though the woman was 30 years younger than your Mom, I would have called her a crazy old lady, too! haha! I always say "you don't deserve to drive that car" when people don't wave!!!-
