How to get a MINI

Postby jmnicol » Fri Dec 04, 2009 7:56 pm

Greetings to all!

I have been looking non-stop at information on Mini's for a while now - my wife and I are in the market for a second car that's good on gas and fun to drive. We're a bit strapped for cash, so we were looking at getting a used Cooper (MT base model if possible - we don't really need the power) from '04-'07 (I've heard the 03's had some issues).

We're located in Tempe, does anyone here on the forums have advice or recommendations as to where the best place would be to get our hands on a MINI? The selection on Craigslist, among others, is pretty sparse. I'm sure it's because no one wants to let go of their MINI!

Any thoughts would be appreciated. Happy motoring!

Lat 04 to year 05 were the best year of the older MINI. My 03 had lots of issues untill just before I sold it then it worked fine. Figures :?

It seemed to me they fixed all the issues by the end of 04. Newer 2nd gen MINIs are the most reliable in My opinion. I have an 07 now and have only taken it in for oil changes and 1 or 2 small issues.
Still driving a Mini. No matter the cost.

One of our clients is trying to sell their Mini. Not enough room for the grandkids. They were just in today and I asked if they had sold it yet. He said they lowered the price to $17000. It was like $22000. I believe. It is nice. Convertible. If you are interested please give them a call and tell them Jeanette with the Dog Wash sent you.
