Play "Hooky" with the DMC? Weekday FunRun Jan 2009

Postby danjmcs » Fri Oct 17, 2008 6:12 pm

Wanna play hooky with the DMC? :)

I was thinking of a mid-week Fun Run toward the end of January, as I know we have a handful of members that work most weekends, and it would be a change of pace with traffic and such.

Run idea being heading out East through Superior, up to the Roosevelt Lake area for lunch somewhere and then back down 87 into Fountain Hills, with maybe a side trip through Rio Verde and finishing up at Mini North Scottsdale. Keeps weather interference to a minimum as far as going up too high in altitude, and would make for a nice mid-morning departure, and back in town before the worst of rush-hour traffic.

A route something like this: Map Link

If you are interested, please answer the poll and pick which day of the week you think works best. I'm omitting Friday, since that tends to be a more than average travel day for most taking a 3-day weekend.

If you have any comments or suggestions on the route, please post them up in reply in this thread!

Too bad Friday is out of the question since it would be a great lead into my birthday on Saturday the 10th. Hehehehe...

Now is it really playing hooky if we are planning so far in advance? That sounds like the very responsible way of playing hooky. Image

Actually the date hasn't been set yet, the subject had "Jan 09" as in January 2009, and the run is going to happen toward the end of the month, so you never know just yet. :)

I clarified the subject line now that we are closer to the new year :)
