my dad gave me a zf 5speed, s-42, rated at 420 tq, monster trans, going to stick it behind a 2001 lm7 5.3 v8
and I started to work on the rear suspension
building a tri 3 link and im not sure if the set up will need a pan hard bar or not
the lower link arms are made out of 2x3-3/16 square stock, nice and heavy duty and if I bagged the truck the link arms are already set up for the most part for air bags
the crossmember is getting cut out because its in the way of the link bars

this is how the frame sits now, a few more things to do before I can get the shell back on the frame
this up coming weekend I plan to fit the engine/trans to the frame, I have to make motor mounts and a trans crossmember

I just want you to know that some of us are coming back and checking the progress on your project. Unlike Facebook where it is a click to like each post, I kind of forget to leave a comment or say something. Love what you are doing!

I had left hip surgery on the 29th of sept
So the projects are kind of on hold for a little bit of time
But I did buy another set of cerwin vega pro audio speakers, 12's with horns
And found a geo metro to use as a donor car for the Lhd mini
Just have to figure out how I'm going to get the metro out to tucson from San Diego
So I can pull the motor and bring the mini back home but that will probably be early next summer when the subframe is ready
I have a few extra mini front subframes to use for the 3 cylinder build

i got David's mini a few weeks ago, my daily mk4 golf broke something and dumped the engine oil while I was driving the car
car needs a new motor and so I saw this mini come up for sale and it looked pretty nice and drove sweet and so I picked it up
im in the middle of rebuilding the stereo system in the car
it has a dual amp and two sony 8 inch woofers,
im going to keep the sony 8's for now
and the dual amp will be changed out for some JBL amps
a mono block and a 2ch amp for the front door speakers,
and I plan to change out the stock door speakers for some jbl comps soon

sony 8's in the old box
and the new box that im currently working on, .95 sealed before subs, good amount of air space
the amp I have is a jbl gto 301.1, 300watts @2ohms
while I was making this box one of my router bits broke, and it left two low spots in the wood, so I will build that back up and smooth it out before I carpet the box
im going to pick up some carpet today at lunch time and install it tonight

Put the carpet on the box tonight, tomorrow I will install some speaker wire
Into the box and seal it in and then drop the subs in

I got one of the jbl amps installed in the r53 tonight, going to work on the jbl 6.5 comps tomorrow, I already made some mdf speaker adapters rings for the door panels
i have the Sony 8 inch woofers installed with the temp amp, the new box is way better and hit deeper, but that amp doesn't push the subs the way they should be, but the new jbl amp will just fine
