Pack your bags and get ready to hit the open road because you're invited for an epic event of Mini proportions in Milwaukee, WI!

Why Milwaukee? Just 90 minutes north of Chicago/Northern Illinois, the Mini Meet: East Meets West 2014 will be hosted in Milwaukee! The event will be hosted by the Milwaukee Minis with regional assistance from members of the Minis of Northern Illinois (M.I.N.I.) and the Chicago Mini Motoring Club (CMMC).

The 2014 Mini Meet has been designed as a destination experience - with the whole family in mind. In doing so, we will host an event that honors the tradition of the Mini Meet while infusing it with workshops attractive to those newer enthusiasts looking to learn more about the maintenance of their Mini and/or MINI Cooper.

Milwaukee has certainly had its share of visitors. The French missionaries and explorers were coming here as early as the late 1600s to trade with the Native Americans. Actually, it's pronounced "mill-e-wah-que" which is Algonquin for "the good land." - Alice Cooper

A quick Google Maps route via Interstate highways comes to 3,630 miles round trip.
That's a lot of fanny time in a classic!

Don't forget, the week before is the Can-Am Mini Challenge @ Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio.

With two days between these events that's more than enough time to get from Ohio to Wisconsin.

OK Pat. Are you driving or towing?

Depends on how much stuff I need to haul and how many people are going. Why do you ask?

Was thinking of a 6 day drive to Wisconsin with plenty of time to play tourist along the way. Looking for others that want to drive their classics to convoy together.

I'm thinking more of a three day drive, going to Mid-Ohio before.

Being from Chicago, we are looking at this for a road trip.
Likely leave the previous Saturday or Sunday and make the drive from Phoenix to Cheddarville in 3-ish.
Time to relax along the way. -ralph

Interesting 'first' regarding this Mini Meet. It looks like this will be the first time a MIni Meet is being hosted by a mostly New MINI Club. This should prove to be interesting as previous Mini Meets have mostly been about the Classic Minis, which is reflected by the number of awards at a Mini Meet being mostly for the Classic Mini.
With a New MINI Club hosting the event it looks like this may change. This can be a welcome change that would encourage more New MINI enthusiasts to take part in these events. Long drive from Arizona for sure, and an added bonus is the Can-Am 55 Mini Challenge race the weekend before at Mid-Ohio.
