THIS POST WILL BE UPDATED AS MEETING LOCATIONS ARE DETERMINED

We talked about this at the Annual Meeting in Phoenix, so lets get the word out!. Every other year we make this run in late September. It’s time to do it again. More details to be worked out, but here is the basic idea.

Tucson group will meet for breakfast in the Catalina or NW area of Tucson for an 8 am breakfast, then head North on AZ-77

Phoenix, will meet in the East Valley (WE NEED A VOLUNTEER TO SET THAT UP!!) and head East on US 60.

Both groups will motor through the twisties to meet in Globe. From Globe the group will drive together to Safford and then to Mt. Graham.

The road up Mt. Graham takes us to an elevation of approx 10,000 ft, and is 21 miles of sharp curves, switch backs, and hairpins and mostly no guard rails. We should plan on a possible picnic on Mt. Graham or we could do lunch in Safford. Let us know your preference and we will decide or split in different groups, this is about options.

Some will make this a day trip, some will make it a camping trip and stay at Roper Lake State Park (natural hot spring soaking tub and fishing) There are cabins available to rent as well as tent and trailer camping sites. As some of you know there are a group of teardrop campers in our club as well as tent campers. Also hotels and motels are available in Safford if you want to spend the night but are not the camping type.

More details will be posted and emails will be sent to club members. Please plan to join us. If you are not a member but want to join the club or maybe just try an event out please send an email to madmenoftucson@gmail.com with Mt. Graham in the subject line and we can keep you updated so you can come meet the  Dynamic MiNi Collective and participate in this fun event that we only do every other year.safford-arizona-mount-graham-hill-climb-500x375 IMG_1731
